HungryMan Gallery San Francisco presents the exhibition, Really, Something, featuring the paintings and drawings of Joel Dean and Alex Heilbron. Dean dissects painting down to its very essential elements, form and color — employing monochrome for this exhibition. He questions his practice in contemporary painting through broken down abstractions of paper shapes on linen canvas. Heilbron's world is overrun with an adolescent spirit that weaves its way into her drawings. The work is reflective of her nostalgic and intuitive imagination combined with everyday experiences and images. Both artists construct a strong visual language in their work while contending with the personal experience of their mediums.
