Cloud Form 03.09 is a site-specific installation for HungryMan Gallery by the artist Mark Rumsey. The delicate material nature of Cloud Form is resented as a micro view into the cloud structure droplets being played upon by light. By using the vehicle of the phenomena in our natural world, a cloud; the viewer is presented with a visual array that plays with ones understanding and perception. Like a cloud, the piece seems to be a highly organic, fluid organism while maintaining an underlying dominant, crystalline structure. Cloud Form 02.09 is on view concurrently at the Muskegon Museum of Art in Muskegon, MI.
Mark Rumsey is a Grand Rapids, MI based artist who received an MFA in Printmaking at Kendall College of Art and Design, where he is currently an adjunct instructor. He has recently exhibited his work in New York, NY; St. Charles, MO; Provo, UT; Bay City, MI; and Seattle, WA.
