Always High School is an exhibition that explores self and society using an invented disposition, rife with melodrama and irreverence, joy and dread. While each artist's work begins at a different point on the line between personal and cultural, a common ground is met through collaboration, and the employment of the gallery space as a pseudo-counter site built upon an attitude of disconcerted adolescence. Together the works map a state of ambivalence by establishing contradictory ideals, while freely and haphazardly quoting popular American culture and history.
